Early Years Educators – Nature & Farm-Based Crèche, Watergrasshill, Co. Cork

About the Role

Reach Jobs is recruiting an Early Years Educator / Childcare Practitioner on behalf of a unique early learning service located in Watergrasshill, County Cork. This is a full-time position offering a hands-on, outdoor-focused childcare experience in a nurturing and educational environment.

The role is ideal for an educator who enjoys working closely with children in a nature-based, experiential learning setting, supporting their development through play, exploration, and meaningful daily routines.

Our client is an established early years service with a strong educational and community focus, combining childcare with a farm-based and outdoor learning philosophy. The service promotes curiosity, creativity, and connection with nature, while maintaining high standards of care, safety, and child development. Staff are supported through structured induction, ongoing training, and a positive team culture.

About the Location

Watergrasshill is a peaceful rural area in County Cork, offering a calm working environment surrounded by nature, while still being within reasonable distance of Cork city. This location is ideal for candidates seeking a quieter lifestyle with lower living costs and access to outdoor spaces.

Employment Conditions

• 12-month fixed-term contract, with the possibility of extension
• 35–40 hours per week, full-time
• Hourly rate starting from €15 per hour
• Two-week on-the-job induction period
• Induction training completed directly in the workplace
• Continuous Professional Development (CPD), plus time off in lieu for approved courses
• 4 weeks’ paid annual leave per year
• Access to an Educational Assistance Programme
• Start date: ASAP

Accommodation Support

• Staff accommodation available (if required)
• Self-catering cabin located on site
• Approximate cost: €250 per month
• Ideal option for candidates relocating to Ireland

Job Requirements

• A recognised Early Years qualification at Level 6, 7, or 8 (Irish NFQ) or an equivalent international qualification
• Eligibility to work in Ireland (EU/EEA citizenship or valid work permission)
• Good level of spoken and written English
• Genuine interest in early childhood education and outdoor learning
• Ability to work well as part of a small, supportive team
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Understanding of, or willingness to learn, the Aistear and Síolta frameworks
• Garda Vetting (or willingness to apply, with support)
• Reliable, proactive, and child-centred approach
